i agree on the spelling thing. i have met girls with names like Jessica & their parents spelled it Jessikah. it doesn't make them any more original, it just makes them have to repeat their names & the spellings a bunch of times when they're in school, opening a bank account, getting a driver's lisence, etc.

common spellings are a good thing. "original" ones tend to make the parents look uneducated.
