MSG (mono sodium glutinate) is a food additive that enhances flavor. It's also known to give some people bad headaches. It used to be found in alot of chinese food until there was a backlash against it in the 80s (I actually learned all of this from watching McGyver, lol) but recently I've noticed it's started appearing back in some foods.
