How are you stressing the syllables in Iola? I just can't get past the IOL repetition (and also am worried that Violet is one of those trend setting celeb baby names).

eye-OH-la VIE-let is how it sounds to me. The OH sound isn't really said in Violet in my accent I guess. I can see how that would be repetitive if it was VIE-oh-let though.

Oh, I've never heard it pronounced with two - that's interesting! How many syllables do you say in Beatrice and Catherine?

I'm not sure... I think two. I could say them either way, but two is probably more likely what comes out of my mouth. The name William is the same way.
