(no subject)

Can anyone think of names that would "honor" my Spanish (Basque) and Dutch roots.

Just don't use names like Maria, Jose, Juan, Luis, or any of those burned names. I absolutely loathe those names.

Carmen, Carmenza, or Esperanza for girls.
Pedro, Miguel, or Victor for boys.

Sorry. I was trying to think of names that I thought weren't burned out. I will look more to try to help. But, glad that you like Victor though.

There were these twins that went to my school named Lyman and Helaman. I have no idea what their names mean, but they were hispanic.

Sorry if it wasn't much help, but they're different names and the only time I have ever heard of them...

[identity profile] sara-t-05.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Ya, I understand. I have such a plain name and also share it with 11 other girls in my school, so I know where you're coming from.

I looked up what those names meant and Helaman isn't even a name and Lyman means something about a meadow. lol I don't like 'em either, but they were different... So, I thought I would suggest it.

Probably, Kaetana or Katarina? Or Lusia? Or Hasefa? Though I'm not sure for spelling.
For boy it can be Haspar, Miggel...

[identity profile] mamasaidriot.livejournal.com 2005-05-27 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
correct spellings are Lucia, Josefa, Jaspar, Miguel :) (in Spanish "J"="H")

I agree, I love Adrian.

Also, Anastasia is gorgeous, and I love the Spanish pronounciation, it sounds so much more beautiful IMO!

I'm guessing it's Pau - el Pau as in pow.

I did a name search for dutch and spanish names and picked out the ones that sounded more like you wanted.

google is my friend!

One of my favourite names is Esmé (es-mee, i've seen it spelt without the accent too, i happen to prefer it) It seems to have spanish origins, since it was derived from the name Esmarelda- meaning Emerald.
Also, Latin meaning esteem.
