i really, really like louis and joel. a lot. and although quite common, i love adam and andrew. patrick, christian, brandon, and brody are all runner ups, i guess.

and while i'm at it-- i'm going to share something terrible. i knoooow there are lame jokes about names like chanda lear and orange jello... i know. and i hate that this is true and people would probably think i'm pulling something like that. but, i was at my boyfriend's parent's house a weekend or so ago and was reading their newspaper. since i obviously have a thing for names, i was reading all the different names of the kids that made honor roll. i unfortunately came across a girl named tiffany lamp. aaagh. i wish i brought the paper with me to scan it or had thought to take a picture of it. poor kid. hopefully her parents didn't know what a tiffany lamp was or something.

:) no offense to some... but i totally got over the creative spellings when i was about twelve. i think this was due to the fact nobody can pronounce or spell my name correctly (even though it's not that crazy. at all. but damn my mother for choosing elyssa.), and i'd really rather not burden my children with that.

and i was bored and read your journal and i find it highly amusing.

lol I was going through the paper and read in a marriage announcement "Justin Credible". I kid you not. I also know of someone with the last name of Coleslaw. Heh. It's horrible.

Anyhow, I love classic names, too! I think all my kids are going to have names of old people.

Let's see: Adam, Brody, Christian, Corey, David, Eli (though I like Elias, pronounced E-LEE-ISS) and Malachai! I love that name Malachai, it's so manly. =D

Yes! I love that place. lol I think I'm a freak so I post like every week on the stupidest things.

And, I really don't think people do think when they name their kids. I was TAUNTED about my name. One, the spelling. I always had to say, "no 'h'" and people would bitch. And, Sara is a "mexican" name. I am not mexican. And, I've had teachers pronounce it Sar-a like Tara (Tar-a ... Sar-a).
So, yeah... I plan on naming my kids with simple, easily spelled names without any variations.

oh, i know what it's like to have people screw up your name. i've always had to correct teachers with my name. i get elisha, elisa, eliza, alisha, alyssa, elsa, elizabeth, melissa, elise... elisha and alisha can be pronounced either -lisha or -leesha. or i get elissa, alyssa, alissa, elisa as spellings. holy crapy. it's alyssa, with a long e. totally not hard. and then the middle name! how do you pronounce that? ohh, that's pretty. aileen. i guess it could be ilene, but we pronounce a-lean.

that got long. i'm still going, haha. anyway. my name is what sparked my interest in names because i got so frustrated with people having so much trouble with it that i wanted to change it. but i've grown to love it.
