What does everyone think of the name Leah? Or Lia? It was something that had never crossed my mind until laying in bed last night. I dont think it is too common(not around here anyway). My bf really likes it too, and it is the first name that has felt like it really fit. Does it sound too old or plain? The middle name will be Marie. I think it has a kind of ring to it, what about you?

Adore Lia, hate Leah. I think Lia Marie is cute.

I pronounce them the same, but I just like the look of Lia so much better than Leah. Probably stupid, since they're the same name. LoL I don't know why...Plus, like you said, Lia is a lot less common.

I love the name Leah (spelled Leah, not Lia) :D It's not too overly used, but it doesn't sound too uncommon, you know? I think it sounds pretty and feminine. Plus, it's my middle name! ;)

I have a cousin who spells her name Leah and I think her middle name is Marie too.

I think it flows nicely.

Love it! It's my dog's name, but we spell it Lea.

I LOVE the name Leah. I don't think it's terribly common, either. It's gorgeous. It was our second runner up for this baby's name.

I don't like it at all. It means "cow" and I have a cousin that's a cow and her name is Leah, so it's all I think of. ;)

It's a breath of fresh air with what a lot of parents are naming kids these days. Leah, for sure. Lia looks like a made up spelling and reminds me of Kia (which is a car).

It's my name, actually. I spell it Leah, but my parents were originally going to spell it Lia, and changed it at the last minute. I've toyed with changing the spelling back to Lia for a long time, and am thinking seriously about doing it once I enter the workforce in a few years.

I love it. I don't know in what language exactly it means "cow", I've never heard of that, but in Hebrew there's a difference between Leah and Lia that's pivotal. Leah (לאה) is the biblical name that means "burdened" or "tired", and it has the lovely biblical association. Lia (ליה), though, means "God is mine"--Li means to me or mine and the letter hey (ה) represents God. In English I'd pronounce them the same but I do love the Hebrew connotation. I love both spellings and it's a great name in my opinion.

I love Leah but hate Marie. Marie is definitely a filler name, for my generation, at least. (I'm 17.)

I am not too crazy about Leah (some people might just say "Lee") but I LOVE Lia!!!

I like Leah better than Lia. It has more history behind it, and is a Biblical name!

My cousin's daughters are called Mia and Lea (not pronounced as Lia!). I like it, but I would never use them myself.

I really like Leah, but I think Leah Marie is kind of a bland combination.

I think Lia is really sweet. Leah is nice too but the pronunciation is more ambiguous (some people do pronounce it as Lay-uh or Lee, but I know it is most commonly the same as Lia, just not as obvious)

I don't like it with Marie though.. maybe because it reminds me of Lisa Marie which bugs me every time I hear it as a combo.

Don't like it. It's okay, but every Leah or Lia I've ever met was a really dorky kid that no one liked, so I've always had bad associations with the name.

Leah/Lia Marie (Leah Marie sounds better) sounds prettyish, but sounds very 80s.

My name is Lea, pronounced LEE-uh. I love my name. I like how people don't try to make nick names out of it, sounds pretty and is short (quick to write). I like Lia too. It's efficient, looks cool, and Lia Marie look good together.
