So we are having a hard time deciding if we really want to go with the name we've chosen--we're 99% sure we love it, but I feel like we need to try to think about other names just in case something else comes up that's better.  I'm hoping you can help me.

Here are the perameters:

  • Prefer biblical names
  • Can't begin with H
  • Can't have a flat "A" sound in it due to my midwestern accent (like samantha becomes sa-meeeannntha when I say it)
  • Must go with Marie as a middle name
  • Something that people can pronounce easily
  • Not have a million different spellings of it available
  • Not be too consonant-heavy like Rebecca or Rachel, as our last name is Hargrove

The name we have come up with is Junia (June-ee-uh), which is the name of the only female apostle in the Bible.  She'd go by June.

Thank you in advance!!

I think people would try to say Junia like June-ya, which sounds like Junior with a bad accent. :p Not trying to bash on the name, just wanted to point that out.

I like:

Ruth Marie (but I guess that's consonant heavy)
Dina Marie
Emma Marie
Joy Marie
Joyce Marie
Leah Marie
Silvia Marie
Veronica Marie
Regina Marie (this is my favourite)

WAIT, female biblical name that sounds ok with Marie?

Jael. (Jay-el). Jael Marie sounds pretty to me. Abigail too.

Oddly, those are two of a sibling set I know. :D

I didn't mean that you got it from there, just that 1) its going to get super trendy and 2) people might think that's why she chose it, thus diluting the true, Biblical meaning of the name.

No, i know why you said that.

I find it HORRIBLE when awesome names go down the tubes thanks to reality TV.

we need people on reality TV with normal, everyday names...SPELLED CORRECTLY.

I love Junia! June is one of my favorites, but off of my personal list for a silly reason. I think Junia is wonderful, though! :)

I think Rebecca Hargrove and Rachel Hargrove sound absolutely amazing.

More biblical names:

Leah Marie(might be out because of your accent)
Judith Marie (This is my aunt's name--and she's young and hip!)
Esther Marie
Susanna Marie
Martha Marie
Veronica Marie (I love this one!)
Eve Marie

I didn't know that about Junia. I like the name and my husband would appreciate the meaning. I might just go with June as the first name, abbreviate it for the given name.

Ruth Marie Hargrove would be pretty.
Lucy Marie?
