Paityn (daddy prefers Payton) Jade. To go with Megan Patricia, Morgan Rain and Paige Elizabeth. We had not intended on doing a sib set like this, but we ended up sort of adopting my sister Megan so it threw things all off and now we figure we may as well have another "P" girl.

Thoughts? Paityn or Payton? Personally I think Paityn looks more like a name and not like we threw two words together and called it a name.

I don't particularly like the name at all, just by the sound of it, but I wouldn't pick either spelling; I'd pick "Peyton."

Payton (or Peyton) are the standard spellings of the name. Paityn looks like you're trying to be cre8tyv with your spelling. I really don't care for y's inserted randomly into names. My neighbors are famous for it with their kids' name spellings: Greysyn, Cheyney and Rheygyn.

Rheygyn makes me want to vomit. the Gyn reminds me of gynocologist... ahhh!

Payton, Peyton would be even better though. Paityn just looks horrible imo, your other kids have properly spelled names, Peyton would go good with them.

I don't care for the name, myself. If I had to choose, I'd go with Payton. I think Peyton is the proper way of spelling it, but it looks more masculine to me. I don't like Paityn, it looks made up to my eye.

This is totally unrelated and random and I don't even know what... but if I had a sibset like you do, I'd totally go for a "E__ R___" or "R__ E___" name... Only because there's two M names, two P names, but only one R and one E name... But I'm weird like that. =]

wow that's really ugly, sorry.
Paityn is...eh.. it's like a weird mix of Caitlyn and Page.. i don't know.. that's all I think when I see it.
I'd go with Payton.

Paityn looks like deformed Kaitlyn. I prefer Peyton, or if you have to, Paytno. Definitely NOT Paityn.

'Paityn' looks like you randomly threw some letters together.

Eew. Paityn is horrendous. I don't understand the obsession with sticking y's everywhere.

I don't like the name in the first place, but if you want to use it, at least spell it properly.

The name isnt so bad, but it looks better when its spelled correctly: Peyton. The variation of Paityn looks rediculous and would be confusing for anyone else. Its one of those kreeative names gone bad.

Peyton only, maybe Payton. Paityn looks illiterate. Anyway it's way way too similar to Paige, especially because while they share the exact same first syllable, Paige is only one syllable to begin with. What about Tatum instead?

Peyton, maybe Payton.

Payton is how the name is spelled. Paityn looks like a drug brand name to me, and she'll constantly be spelling it for people.

I do think Payton Jade is pretty.

Paityn is awful. Stick with the traditional Peyton or Payton, if you must pick that name.

I don't like the Payton. I hate unisex names.

there is nothing wrong with spelling names the correct way. paityn makes you look moderately to severely illiterate, among other things that are not politically correct to say.

I reallllly dislike Paityn. That looks made up. Payton looks like a name to me. BUT I actually prefer the spelling Peyton.

I don't like the name to be honest, but I think Peyton is the best spelling.

I think Paityn sound a bit too much like Paige. Paityn Jade is pretty together, it could work if maybe you were going to call her by her middle name. Or call Paityn by her first if Paige goes by her middle or some other nickname. Also, I think if you truly love a name and it feels like the perfect name you've been searching for, the thoughts of others (except your partner's) shouldn't count.
If you like the name, combo, spelling, use it.

Peyton/Payton. Paityn doesn't look like a real name.

I don't understand why the next girl needs to have a "P" name to fit the 'pattern'... they're individual children, they really shouldn't be named as a set IMO.

Paityn looks awful. Peyton is an alright name, but I agree that it sounds really similar to Paige...

Date: 2007-03-23 09:21 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lizziey.livejournal.com
To that sib-set thing, people keep telling me my name choices don't fit the "sib set" either, and I'm just like...so? they're seperate children. They do not need to be named "as a set".

*growl*

(for the record, I have a Seth, a Topher (short for christopher), and a future Keladry (girl) or Khyber (boy) on the way. though, we are now condsidering Annika for a girl...)

Horrid. Not a name and if it must be, not a girls name! And regardless, it's very ugly and modern. Sounds like another ugly surname inflicted upon a child. Aside from these things, all the spellings are bad like others said, but especially illiterate looking spellings.

I do too, but I think most people see them as interchangeable because they dont change the name much.

What about other P names like Petra or Priscilla?
