[identity profile] hotchpot.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
This is the last poll, I promise. I just learned how to make them and I am so enamoured with it I thought I'd post another. My favorite author is Lucy Maud Montgomery, who wrote the Anne of Green Gables books, and the Emily of New Moon books, and many more besides. I always admire the names she picks for her characters, so I thought I'd post a poll of those names.

[Poll #951965]

L.M. Montgomery is one of my favorite authors as well, so I really love this poll!

I've always loved her choice of names for her characters.

I never liked Shirley, especially not on a boy. I totally understand why the character did it, though. Heh.

Overall, I like them.

Aww, Anne of Green Gables is probably my favourite book of all time. Great poll!

I wish Gilbert were a nicer name. I LOVE Gilbert Blythe, and would definitely like to name my kid after him, but I just don't enjoy the name at all. It's annoying.

Maybe you could use Blythe as a middle name for a girl. Although I don't actually like it :p
but it's one of those old names like Blanche or Bonnie

Don't forget Josie Pye (or at least Josie) :)

I love the "Anne" series but there's so many names you forgot. Understandable though considering the amount of characters. There's Christine, Bertha, Jamesmina (or Jamesina...I can't find my copy), Josie, and Bertie (Shakespeare). I love the name Josie though, even though the character was very mean to Anne ;).
I also love the name Gilbert too. Or maybe I'm just in love with Gilbert. That is such a wonderful love story.
