The family I nanny for welcomed their 4th daughter to the world this morning at 9:20. (after only 2 hours of labor).

Tierney Joy _____ joins big sisters Kaeley Jordan(9), Cassidy Jean(6) and Mackenzie Jade(4). They all have very Irish/Gelic names. It was a must for the middle names to start with J's. Apparently its a family tradition.

What do you think?

My sister-in-law just had a short labor too; it's nice for them! :)

Tierney is nice. Kaeley is a little sugary to me, and Cassidy is overdone-blah to me. I like Mackenzie but it's also overdone. I love the theme though!

Love the middles.

Tierney reminds me of tyranny. :/

I can't believe you're the first to say it. It's the first thing I thought of. It's horrible!

I like Tierney, it was on my list for baby #1, but my husband vetoed it because he said it sounded like Tyranny.
I don't like any of their other names. They don't sound as Irish or Gaelic to me as they do trendy.

I agree. They don't sound like Irish names, they sound like Eyrysh names. Trendy and overused with an emphasis of "we LOVE Irish names!!!!11!1"

Hahaha, Eyrysh.
That's a good one. :)

Lol, I love that.. I was thinking the same thing.

I love Irish names too, but not like that.

I dunno what I think of the names really - nothing sticks out to me especially as a sib-set. Not to mention it's kinda odd with the whole "ie" or "ey" endings of all their names AND all their middle names starting with "j"...but anyways, they're not horrible names.

Not awful...not my own choices. But I like the tradition. It's not that subtle, but no one has to know.

Tierney has always been one of my favorite names! Not really a fan of the other names at all

by Irish/Gaelic names you mean Irish/Gaelic lastnames, right? At least for Cassidy and Mackenzie, Kaeley I can't find any link to either of those. I don't like Tierney because besides sounding like the word "tyranny" it's a boys' name in Ireland so it seems ridiculous to me on a girl. As to the others, they're all terribly tired and unoriginal to me, and I don't like the oldest's name in particular because I had a friend named this (but a different spelling of Kayley, and Jordan is the lastname) who committed suicide a few months ago.

With the exception of Cassidy, there's nothing remotel Irish about any of those names.
