Pax is Latin for "peace". Thien is Vietnamese for "sky". That's wtf it is.

She's obviously keeping true to his roots in some way and I think it's cool. She could have always kept his real name: Pham Quang Sang.

And do you honestly pronounce it "jolly"? Jesus.

If she's going to re-name him, I guess it's nice that she at least gave him a Vietnamese middle-name... as for "Pax", it sounds unfinished - why not "Paxton" or something? Plus the x-trend along with Maddox is irritating.

I was thinking the same thing. [About Pax/Paxton] and I agree about the x's as well!

i think it's because she was naming him because of the meaning "peace" rather than the name itself. if she'd named him paxton, it would have lost the meaning.

i like it.

i like it.

Not a fan, although "Pax" does have meaning behind it... I hope. :P

Yeah, Latin, means what you said.

Then that's good!

I was just thinking and I think Pax, Zee, Mad and Shiloh are really cute together.

And no doubt they call her Shy.

Pax, Z, Mad, and Shy. :)

I like.

I like it. I read on time.com that Pax Thien translates into "peaceful sky", which I love. But Pax and Maddox are too similar-sounding for my taste. At least they're creative, though! :)

Maddox and Pax? That sounds like a kind of saying an old person would say. I don't know why, ahah.

How do you say the middle name? Thee-in?

Pax has a nice meaning (peace), but I still don't really like it.
