Who wants to name my baby?!
Mar. 14th, 2007 02:09 pmHI everyone. I'm new here and I need help!!
I'm pregnant with #3 and my husband and I can't seem to agree on a boy name. I'm not due until September so I have plenty of time...
My son is Tristan Alexander and my daughter is Skylar "Skye" Nichole, so we want something that sounds good with their names...
We have a girl named picked out: Haley Meredith-the reason is because 1. it's my dad's initials-we wanted to name the baby after at least one of my parents but they have "horrible" names (read: Hermon and Cheryl although I do like Sherryl but hubby HATES it). and 2. Meredith is my grandmother's name.
A boy will definitely have the middle name of Foster (which is my husband's middle name), and so far the only boy names that my husband will give the time of day to are: Trevor, Peyton, Cameron, and Dylan. So for now, we're going with Dylan Foster but Dylan is SO popular. We are a military family living in Japan so it's not too popular "here" but we'll be moving to the states soon and I don't want this baby to be like "Dylan #4 in his class. I *love* Trevor but I'm not sure that I want a Trevor and a Tristan. And Peyton seems to be more of a girlie name these days and there are TONS of them!! *sigh*
Oh and one more thing that might be important to know...our last name is...Eddy. Pronounced like Eddie.
So...who wants to name my baby (if it's a boy)???

Date: 2007-03-14 05:22 am (UTC)How about classics like Michael, William, Thomas?
Ryan came to mind, but talk about popular!
I dislike Trevor, like Cameron, and I agree about Peyton. I love Dylan, but like you said - popular as well.
Zane? Kevin... hm... I'm back at suggestions, but congrats!

Date: 2007-03-14 06:26 am (UTC)By the way, I have a son named Tristan too. I LOVE the name and have for a long time. I'm only sorry that it's becoming more popular. I hear it all the time now. :(

Date: 2007-03-14 11:27 am (UTC)Sorry, I'm a House MD fan. So I'm a little biased on the name.
When I hear Dylan, I think about little boys who kick and bite.
When I hear Peyton, I think of that girl from One Tree Hill(ick).
When I hear Trevor, I think of a 30-something that smokes pot.
But when I hear Cameron, I think...Cute.

Date: 2007-03-14 03:47 pm (UTC)That kind of came out of nowhere. But I like the way Kyle Foster Eddy sounds
Although it almost rhymes with Skylar, so maybe not
BTW, my little brother's girlfiend's last name in Eddy in Washington, maybe you're distantly related. She's a cool girl

Date: 2007-03-15 03:12 pm (UTC)There's also Carter, Chase (though I think these are SUPER popular), Chester (one of my friend's names, we call him Chet), the classic Charles
Though I just sounded those out and it doesn't really work with Carter, Chase, or Chester
For your father's "H," it was a little harder to find something that sounds good. Here are my picks:
Hamilton ...Hamilton Foster Eddy
(for nn's you could do Hammy, Ham, or Tony..I know Ham sounds weird but I do know a man who goes by Ham, and it is such that no one *really* knows what his real name is)
Hope this helps :) Good luck and congrats!
I also though of Holden ...Holden Foster Eddy
(I don't know if you like to read, it's from The Catcher in the Rye)

Date: 2007-03-18 11:48 am (UTC)I like the sound of Peyton Meredith Eddy for a boy.
We've toyed with the notion of passing my name on to a son as it's originally a masculine name and surname, now considered both feminine and masculine.
If you want something like Cheryl, you might try 'Meryl' (Merrill is probably a better spelling)... or my secret love 'Beryl'.
