So these are what i thought of...

Im a geek through and through and thought of this boys name

Malcolm Adama

Malcolm for Captain Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly and Adama from Captain Adama in Battlestar Gallactica.

And for names I would actually give a child I like this name for a girl

Contessa with Tessa as a nn.

What do you think?

I'm loving Malcolm, but not a fan of Adama.

Contessa is really cute, what middle names are you thinking? I think it would be cute with Marie, but seems like it would suit a lot of middle names so long as they don't end with A.

My grandmother's name was Linda, I have considered it as a girl's name, but really I am so in love with Aurora, if we ever have a girl, that will be her name, of course the chances of that are like nil.

Malcolm is okay. I love Contessa/Tessa, and used to want to name my child that (now I think I would prefer Theresa/Tessa).

I really like Malcolm (maybe cause I like firefly more :P ) Also I think Adama leaves room for spelling errors and mispronunciation which would annoy the boy. I love Contessa it's a very old fashioned name therefore not unusual but not very common. I am not a fan of the nickname Tessa but if you don't mind it I think it's important to choose a name where you don't mind the nickname that comes with it cause that will end up being used :D

This baby name book says you have to make sure the initials don't spell a word kids can use to taunt. You have to make sure you could yell that name across a playground and not feel stupid. And think of all the nasty words that rhythm with the name you've chosen to see what possible taunts kids can use and how bad they are.

The boy's name isn't bad, though I'd use Lee as a middle instead to make it less obvious as a tribute.

I like Tessa. I don't like Contessa -- titles as names bug me. If you want a long version of Tessa, Theresa's traditional.

Contessa is such a frou-frou name to me. I love Tessa, but Contessa is terrible in my opinion. Might as well name someone Duchess or Princess.

Malcolm is great, though. Adama is all right - I like just Adam better though.

Adama makes me think of Oedema, the medical word for swelling.
