Hi everyone! I'm new to this community. :) My name is Krista and I'm expecting twin girls! I have the first names picked out. They are Anabelle and Abigaile. I just don't know about middle names. I hate mine they are Lynn Marie (I have two for some reason?) I'm open to any suggestions and just so they flow with the last names, the last names will most likely be Setty but might be Heflin. (That's another story)

I really like your spelling of Abigaile! It might get some flak here, not sure, but I like it!

How about simple names like Jean? Rose? Lee? Leigh?

I'm bad at suggestions, lol.

When are you due? Congrats!

Don't do Annabel(le) Lee, unless you really like the literary reference. It's a poem by Poe.

I don't understand the gratuitous e at the end of Abigail. Otherwise those names sound great! I just think the e makes it really silly because no one will know that's there, people would constantly misspell the name and it makes it very aesthetically displeasing. If you really want an e at the end of Abigail, let me suggest the french spelling of Abigail: Abigaelle. I am not sure if the middle e needs an umlaut or not because I have a French friend named Gaëlle, so it's possible that it might need to be Abigaëlle to be correct in French. I'm not sure. That's my 2 cents.

Gratuitous basically means uncalled for under the circumstances or superfluous.

No problem! :)

The umlaut means that the second vowel is pronounced distinctly from the first--so Gae(umlaut)lle would be "Ga-el" versus "Gail". You'll occasionally see "cooperation" with an umlaut over the second o, because it's not "coop-er-ation" but rather "co-op-er-ation"; nai(umlaut)ve is the same way.
So the umlaut would change the proununciation.

How could Abigaile ever rhyme with Annabelle?

I don't think anyone would pronounce Abigaile "Abigell." Especially just because there's an E on it.

So twins Jodi and Jamie might be called Jodi and Jomie, or Jaydi and Jamie?

Twins Scott and Sam might be called Scatt and Sam?

Twins Ella and Anna might be called Alla and Anna?

No.

If the names are spelled with totally different endings and are pronounced differently, no one's gonna rhyme them.

If their actual names were the short versions of the above (Gaile and Belle), they'd be called Gell and Bell?

I have chosen the name Abigail Imogene for my future daughter.

If it was Abigail Imogen, it'd be two of my pets, haha! XD I have a hamster named Imogen and a rat named Abigail. I like Imogen better. :)

That wasn't clear...I meant I like Imogen better than Imogene, not better than Abigail.

Oh, I understood :)

I prefer how Imogene is pronounced, "ih mo gene" as opposed to "ih mo gen"

Imogen makes me think of the swimsuit girl Imogen Bailey (I think she's Australian? I'm not sure.

I don't know Imogen Bailey, but my hamster was sorta named after Imogen Heap. After my sister told me about Imogen Heap, I realised how much I love the name Imogen. I also liked the artist and it was special since my sister came to visit me and picked out Imogen the hamster with me. :) Imogene sounds odd to me, but maybe because I haven't heard it before.

Yay for twins! I'm a twin, so it's extra cool to me. I really like the name Annabelle, and would definitely use it, but I know someone with the name whom I don't exactly like, so... oh well! I'm not a big fan of the extra e in Abigaile, but it really doesn't matter that much.

Some middle names I like (and that I think go well with either of the names) are Flora, Gillian, Rose, May, and... eeek, I have to go to work right now. Sorry!

GOOD LUCK WITH THE TWINS!! Remember, you can't spell "twin" without "win"... heh.
