I like both of these names and have them both on my list of possible boys names. BUT...they're way too much alike, so I'm trying to decide which I like better, and I thought I'd get some opinions.

What do you think? REEVE or REED/REID? Like them? Hate them? And if you like one more than the other, why?

I like Reed/Reid better, although I'm not quite sure why. Reeve reminds me of Christopher Reeves, I guess, and I'm not really a fan of his. Reed has that musical quality to it, which is nice.

I like Reid better, although neither really appeals to me. Reid sounds like a first name, while Reeve sounds *way* too much like a last name. The first image that comes to mind is Christopher Reeve, and while that's not a bad person to have come to mind when you hear a name, it still sounds too much like a last name to me.

really? i thought completely differently. i know tons of people with the last name "reid," so i like reeve better just because of that (although i don't care all that much for either of them).

Reid, spelled that way. Makes me think of 24, though...

Reed... spelled like that. Reeve makes me think of Superman!

Reeve just reminds me of the online username of someone on my friends list. Didn't realise it was an actual name.

Reid is nice, I'm surprised I like it though because I usually hate names that sound like words... but it sounds very smart and dignified.

The name my father goes by is Reid, so I like the name for its comfort factor, and probably for no other reason.

My SIL's fiance is named Reeve and everyone is forever calling him Reese. I told him not to feel so bad, it took their grandma 3 years to stop calling me Marilyn (my name is Meredith).

Anywho.. guess my point was I think people garble Eeeve too much? I guess I like names with at least on hard syllable in it, and Reeve Doesn't have one.

I prefer Reid, with that spelling. Although, I must say I don't really care for either. :\

I don't like either of them. I think they both sound too much like last names. If I had to choose, I'd go with Reed/Reid.

I like REID because it's pretty to look at and easier for me to say than REEVE.
