What do you think of Eleanor and Sophie as a sibset?

I don't care for Sophie at all. I'd much prefer to go with Charlotte, or the like, if sticking with that type of name.

Sophie is okay but I would probably prefer with Sophia as it sounds more grown up for the future...and Sophie could still be used as a nn. I'm not crazy about Eleanor, but it does sound very distinguished and has cute nn possibilities. They're cute together.

really??! Eleanor sounds so old lady to me and Sophia sounds young and hip.

Sophia seems very Spanish or Italian to me. Not that that's a bad thing, it just doesn't sound like what you are going for.

Interestingly, I always think of Sophia pronounced Sof-EYE-ah, as in Sophia Smith, who founded Smith College.

Not sure. I like both names, but Sophie not as much. They sound/look nice together. I like Sophia better, Sophie seems like a nickname.

I think it's pretty.

I should say that I only dislike Eleanor due to bad associations I think. Every Eleanor I've ever known has been a total bitch!

I didn't mean they were straight from one of her books, I meant it sounded like the types of names she used for sisters. Trust me: I know my Jane Austen characters. lol

I love them both, and I think they sound great together. :) Eleanor and Sophia would work beautifully together as well.

I love them. I rather prefer Elinor because there was a girl at my school growing up named Eleanor and all the boys called her Ell-e-anus.
