What do you think of the name Quentin? I've been obsessed with it for a good long while. And Lephise? I like Tristan as well, what are your thoughts?

I was going to change my name to Quentin even though I'm a girl cause I hate the name Nadia so so much....everyone pronounces it nar-dia, which sounds so ugly  - but I got persuaded out of it, luckily.

change your name to Aidan- Nadia backwards.

Quentin- euw no. I like Quinn though, for either sex but mostly for female middle name.
Lephise- weird... i dont know.
Tristan is okay, sounds a bit trendy is though i know it's a classic. I think it's a popular name now...

i was going to say the same thing, i like the name quinn as well, and i think it suits both sexes.

lephise is just yucky, but tristan is okay, although for me, it's a boy's name.

Quentine reminds me of Quentin Tarantino.
He's talented, buttt not someone I'd name someone else after.

Your name is so pretty!
I love it.

Quentin - prefer Quinn
Lephise - not sure how to pronounce that
Tristan - LOVE!

As for Nadia, doesn't it mean 'nothing?' I'm not a huge fan of the name, but it's definitely not bad - although hard to nickname. BTW - around here Nardia wouldn't be a pronunciation, so if that's what bugs you, maybe you can relocate (just kidding!)

Maybe in some language or another, but I think you may be thinking of "nada," which means 'nothing' in Spanish. Nadia is a pet form of Nadezhda, which means 'hope'.

Quentin has rather posh, very camp associations for me (and, from conversations I've had, that seems to be true for people I know). That's almost certainly because of the fame of Quentin Crisp (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quentin_Crisp) and the success of his book, The Naked Civil Servant, so it's probably just a UK thing.

heh, I don't think Quentin would be an improvement from "nardia". I think Nadia pronounced correctly is very pretty.

Lephise... eh... no....

My cousin named her son Tristan. I like it ok I guess. Trista would be the girl version of it.

Nadia is nice... I'm Australian... I pronounce it "naaah-dia".. kind of like "nar-dia", but the R is not pronounced in my accent, so I'm not sure how to convey it to you... (like, the na rhymes with car, but there's no RRR sound at the end) but how do YOU pronounce your name?

I don't know why anyone would pronounce it "Nar-dee-uh" - it's obviously "Nah-dee-uh" where are you from?

Quentin I can't manage to see as a good name - especially not for a girl.

Lephise is a very odd-ball name and I think you'd have a lot of problems with mispronunciation of that one.

Tristan is nice, but it is very popular right now and I definitely see it as a boy name. That was one of the names I was considering on my boy list, but I got complaints about how it sounded girly or "gay" - I don't agree, but I don't want to give a boy a name they may get made fun of for. And I think it's sorta trendy right now.

I like the idea of flipping your name around to Aidan. But are you looking for a boy's name or girl's name? Because I definitely see Aidan as a boy's name. But again, it's also a very trendy name right now. I think it was number one most popular in '06, actually.

Ohhh so it's an accent thing. Yeah, NARdia would drive me crazy too! lol
