My middle name is Maree… I’ve never been keen to hand it down to my own daughter as I’ve never really liked it. What are your opinions on that name or it’s varieties?

That is really the only female family name I can continue. I have instead opted to use either Emma or Caitlin/Kate (for my best and longest friend) The boys second names, on the other hand, are all from within the family

I don't particularly like Maree and I do prefer the spelling Marie. Kate is nice although the other two I'm not too keen on. I do like that they are real names and aren't too trendy! If they have meaning then go for it.

Kenneth Daniel (nn Kenny) - Kenny reminds me of the movie (and that doesn't have great connotations!)
Asher James - I love James.
Lucas Ryan - I prefer Luca, but this is nice too.
Isabel Grace - Pretty, but popular
Alexis Kate - It's not really my style
Milla Ruby - I love Ruby!

Maree is my middle name too. I think I like it better than Marie, but maybe because I'm more used to it. The reason my parents spelled it that way was to make it less ambiguous. The pronunciation they wanted was "muh-REE" and they knew someone called Marie who pronounces her name as "MAH-rie" so they thought Maree would make it more obvious how they wanted it....

My Nanny is Marie pronounced MAH-rie and I think that's really odd!
I'd always assume it was muh-REE, even though the only person I know with that name pronounces it the other way.

Kenneth Daniel- hate Kenneth, love Daniel
Asher James- Really like
Lucas Ryan- Love Love Lucas, not so hot on Ryan. I'd use Lucas Orion.
Isabel Grace- Very pretty, I prefer Isabelle, french.
Alexis Kate - okay, Alexisis a bit 80's throwback
Milla Ruby- switch to Riby Milla and it's okay.

My Middle name is Mary, and I have the same problem.

I do love Marielle/Mariella/Marianne/Marianna.
Mariella is my favourite, but depending on the first name and what sounds better i'd use any of them.

I don't like Maree. I love Marie. Marie is pronounced more like Mary (kind of like MAH ree) in French, but in the US I don't think you'd have trouble with the muhREE prn. I like Marie a lot, but only as a first name. As a middle name it just screams "FILLER!" to me. Other forms I like are Marianne and Mary.
