i'm 18 years old, single and probably will be for a long time, and not thinking of popping any out anytime soon, but i have quite the fascination with names.

lately i have been thinking, and for my firstborn son, and first daughter, i plan to give them the middle names floyd and grace, respectively. why, you ask? because my favourite albums of all time, any time are pink floyd - the wall and jeff buckley - grace. is this a totally tacky idea? people i've talked to have said that they really like the idea, and that at least the middles have meaning. your thoughts?

as it stands, i enjoy these names:

zachary floyd
connor rhys
emily grace
audrey grace

as for the name "rhys", i'm not so sure about spelling. "rhys" looks a bit awkward (i know it's welsh), "reese" reminds me of peanut butter cups, and "reece" reminds me of this boy i know who i don't exactly love. are there even any other ways to spell it without completely sodomising it?

I like Floyd, it's not a name you hear that often.
And Grace is just pretty :)

But.. when i see "Rhys" i immediately say "rice"..

There's a Park near my house called Riis Park. I usually hate kre8tyv spellings myself, but I like Riis better than Rhys. Rhys looks like it should rhyme with Chris to me. Still I like Reese or Reece better but Rhys is my least favorite spelling for it.

The names are ok, but too common for my taste so I don't like them much myself. I do like Rhys (this spelling only.)

I think the reasoning behind picking the names is great. I doubt anyone will ever think twice about why you chose Grace. I'm willing to bet 1 out of 4 girls have the mn Grace these days. It's unbelievably overdone, whatever the meaning behind it.

I like Rhys spelled Rhys and only that way. The others look wrong to me - like people have heard the name but not known how to spell it.

I like Zachary and Connor. I don't get why Audrey is so popular all of a sudden - it sounds so middle aged to me.

If you have a partner, they always might have different ideas. My husband's favorite names are Alice and Mary. Gagh.
