My Mom came up with this name from a book she's reading - Iliana. WDYT? I use to have a ferret who I named Ilya (Russian for Elijah). I found out though I pronounced his name all wrong, I called him ILL-yah and it's pronounced eel-Yah.

The I sound in the beginning isn't great, in my opinion, but it's okay. I like Eliana or Aliana better.

I knew an Iliana once. She was from Turkey and pronounced it Ill-ee-ahnah. I think it's a very pretty name.

Both are beautiful names. Ilia Kulik is one of my favoutire figure skaters, though he is a horrible actor (re: Center Stage) he is amazing at skating and dancing. I have always loved his name.

I always pronounced Ilya Ill-Yah. Knew a guy in college and everyone pronounced his name that way.. hrm. He was fresh out of Russia, Russian. Maybe he just didn't feel like correcting everyone. ;)

I was corrected by my vet >_<
He called my ferret "eel-yah" and I said (like a little know-it-all) "It's ill-yah, it's Russian". He just smiled and said "I know, it's my father-in-law's name".

I didn't make the icon, my friend did and she begged me to use and I didn't have the heart to correct her or say no. She loves Moulin Rouge (that's how it's spelled, isn't it?), Ewan McGregor, etc.
