What do you guys think of the name Chelsea?

A part of me really hates it, because it reminds me of a snotty blond girl, but another part of me really loves it, and feels guilty about that because it's such a popular name.

Girl - and i was just thinking, the emphasis is less on a z - its more of an s.

i just cant figure out how to write the prn - its basically just as it looks:

Chesley

reminds me of the hairstyle (shaved head with bangs)

Hate it. I know it's very trendy, as is Camden, but it just makes me think "Tufnell Park, Arsenal, High Street Kensington...", or tube trains and Chelsea Tractors (aka SUVs).

Neutral. It's pretty but not a favorite.

Yeah, I don't think it is even in the top 100 now.

It's a place name and seems rather low-class to me. But if it must be used, Chelsea is the best spelling.

I've always been under the impression that Chelsea was a rather wealthy part of London, which makes me think that Chelsea is an aspirational name, like Porsche or Diamond. While I'm guessing most parents now probably just like the sound, I suspect it began that.

I agree - it's tacky.

My name is Chelsea.

I love my name.

Haha that's exactly how I feel about it!

When I was 13 my "enemy" was a snotty blonde Chelsea.... but part of me finds it cute somehow. Definitely not my style of name either.

Hehe thanks... that's me when I was 1 haha.. I still like chocolate but I try to make it more discreet these days

I actually quite like it but where I live, Chelsea is the standard chavette name.

I like Chelsea a lot!

Chelsea is a middle class, preppy snobby name. Still, it's a legitimate name. I don't mind it. I named one of my birds Chelsea once.

I like it. My husband likes it too.
It's on our list.
