What do you guys think of Thaisa for a girl? I think it could be a cool middle name. But, I don't know... Also, it's from a Shakespeare play that I don't know anything about. Opinions?

I know a girl named Thais, pronounced Tie-ees, I'm assuming Thaisa is the same just with an A at the end. I think it's a cool name!

Hmm. I'm not sure I like it if it's Tie-ees-a. It's pretty, but it sounds like someone with an accent trying to say Theresa.

I don't know of any Shakespeare plays with that name (but I don't know ALL shakspearian characters anyway. A lot, but definitely not all!)

It's from Pericles. And yeah, I know a lot of Shakespeare and I hadn't recognized it either.

Yeah, I don't think I like it if that's the pronounciation. Too many vowel sounds and the Ti makes it sounds kinda trashy I think. Boo. I like Thay-sa. hah.

I'm 98% sure the common pronunciation is Tie-ee-sa. I actually like it better than Thay-sa. One of my friends is dating a girl named Thaise (Tie-ees) and I think it's pretty cool.

I say read the play and see if it has any sort of affect on you. :-P

Agreed! I want to see what the character is like. Although, sadly all my books are in storage so my huge Shakespeare bible isn't available. I'll have to see if it's on spark notes, haha.

I would pronounce that Tay-sa, which reminds me too much of a taser...
And I don't like Thay-sa much either, I think the 'th' is a bit awkward.
