[identity profile] danacarlesays.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
The hubby and I are discussing names (as usual) though babies are not in the near future. You could say we're planners, hahaha. Anyways, we're looking for a Spanish MN for the name Villa. I figured a longer MN would be appropriate, though ending in -a would probably be a bad idea. WDYT?

In Spanish it would be Lu-see-uh, not chee. Maybe in Italian it would be Lu-chee-uh, but I don't know. I only know Spanish.

Villa makes me think the word "de" should follow. Villa de Luz or something like that since Villa means city or something. Is it even a Spanish name for a person?

Well no, I'm not saying use "de" in there, I'm saying I don't really like Villa as a name... like naming someone Town Smith or City Jones.

I wouldn't say there are Hispanic undertones..I would just say that there's a Spanish name for most English names.
