Well, anyway..... sorry. I like his name. His father likes his name. Actually, I haven't even come across anyone who disliked his name or the way I spelled.... you all are the first *gives out prizes*. I least I didn't spell it completely funky, like Skieloure.... believe me, I've seen kids with names spelled so odd you don't even know how to pronounce them. Anyway, sorry again..... leaving.

Skylur is... well, he's already named, so no point in giving my two cents about it. If you're happy, I'm happy.. I just hope he is/will be. =/

oh lord.
Weird spellings are pointless, annoying, and make me cringe.

Yes. And, in this case, plain old ugly.

Skylur: I've always associated it as a girls' name, but I don't completely hate it.

Izabella: I usually don't like names containing Z's, but I do love the nickname Izzy.

Izabella makes Isabella looks like a stripper name, imo.

Haha - Zephyr is my cat's name... I can't even begin to imagine it on a person.

I can't stand "alternate spellings", but to each his/her own :)

I nearly posted this morning to warn you about how the alternate spellings were going to be received in here but hesitated and thought maybe that the 1 comment you had was going to be the only one you received. I see I was wrong.

Truth is, when I first joined here I LOVED sticking random y's and misspelling names for the sake of "different" but after really thinking about some of the opinions presented here (while they might not be presented in the most eloquent fashion or nicely at all) I came to agree with them.

They are your children and it is your choice, but I find myself agreeing with what has been posted. I'm not a big fan of Skylur or Izabella, although I do like both Skylar and Isabella. One thing to keep in mind, the trend of changing a names spelling to be unique is one of the biggest trends around right now, so by spelling the names differently you're not being unique, you're actually just following the crowd.

IAWTC 110%.

especially since I also was guilty of liking a few names spelled with unecessary y's and other 'no-no's'and have since come to despise that (and many other trends) after having heard some pretty good points here.

I used to be similar. My daughter was lucky.. she could have been a Cristifer. :)

I don't mind some weird spellings as long as they aren't too off and don't change the way a name should be pronounced. I just wouldn't pronounce Skylur the same as I would Skylar.

Something in the back of my mind told me I should check out your profile. Maybe it was the Gerard Way icon... And, I'm not saying it isn't completely possible to have a child at fifteen... but I mean, if I had a child, no matter how old I was, I would definitely at least mention him in my profile, if not have a billion pictures. Hell, I have pictures of my boyfriend's son on my profile, and he's not even mine! And I'm a member of a few parenting communities.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you are lying, it's not cool. But it may actually be a good thing that there's one less Schkyueueler out there.

P.S. A lot of people here actually don't have kids. It's cool to just love names!

Oh my gosh, if your boyfriend's son is the little blond boy then he is THE cutest thing ever.

Yup. That's him. :)

I just pray that our kids are that cute some day.
