Ok I'm not very good with putting names together and I've been thinking of names forever. I'm 25wks pregnant with a baby boy and we're going to call him Connor (I know there are a bunch of Connors but I love the name). I also love the name Ethan (once again, a usual name) but does Ethan Connor go together? I've said it so much to myself and asked so many people that I'm afraid that they are just telling me it does because their my friends and don't want to hurt my feelings. I realize that he'll be going by his middle name but this also lets us use his first name which I love (ex. school, dr appts). My other name I had picked out was Caden Alexander but my husband doesn't like Caden for a boy. I also like the name Weston and Ryland and he likes Bryson. So any ideas of how any of these sound with Connor? Or any suggestions?

I think Connor Bryson or Bryson Connor sounds alright too, as long as you don't have a last name that ends in -son.

While its nice to have a frist and middle name that flow well together I don't think its the most important factor. Reason being that the first and middle name are so seldom said together in the course of a persons life. What is most important is that the first name sounds good with the last name. For example if your last name ends with an N I wouldn't use Ethan, Caden, Weston or Bryson as the first name, but they would be okay in the middle name position. Likewise if your last name ends with an R I wouldn't use Connor or Alexander as the first name. But is depends on the name because Connor Alexander seems to work okay together despite having the same ending. The reason for this is probably because Alexander is such a long name with 4 syllables, meaning there is a reasonable distance between the two R sounds. That's why Alexander Connor isn't so good, the Rs are closer together.
Connor and Alexander are my favourites. But if you and your husband both like Connor Ethan, go with that, its a fine name.
