On my way to work I saw one of those decals for kids' sports teams with the child and their number on the car in from of me. The name was Alyson. I had to kind of look at it for several minutes to figure out how to say the name.

It's Allison or Alyssa. Not both.

It's not the worst name in the world. But it still bothered me.

There's a friend of my family's and one of his kids is Alysse. Ridiculous, I say. Reminds me of Ulysses.
