We're expecting our second baby in August. We don't know the sex yet, but I went ahead and started going through names. So far I've only gotten to 'D' so I'll probably be making more posts as I continue the search. Our son's name is Ian Thomas.
Girls:
Alex, Alexa, Alexis
Alissa, Alyssa
Annie
Audrey, Audrie, Audry
Cara
Charlie
Clara
Desiree
Donna
Boys:
Adam
Alec
Alex
Caleb
Cory, Corey, Corrie
Collin
Drew
I promise I didn't skip over the 'B' section, I just don't really care for most 'B' names I guess. I don't know if I'm crazy about any of these so far, but I thought enough of them to make a note so.....what do you think?

Date: 2007-01-25 03:55 am (UTC)I love Elisa! I hadn't gotten to the 'E's yet, but that is definitely going on the list (most likely replacing the other two)!
I really like Anneliese as well!
Donna has very special meaning, it was my mother's name, but my husband feels it's too old fashioned and works for a grown woman, but not a little girl.
Adam was one of my top pics last time, so maybe it will make the cut if we have another boy.
I love Andrew as well, but I have an uncle named Andrew (goes by Andy) and I'd rather they didn't share the name.

Date: 2007-01-25 05:02 am (UTC)Family names have so much more emotional significance than names picked out of a book that they really do deserve special consideration. My sister was considering Ella for her second child, and I hoped so much that she'd do it because my mother's middle name is Ellen, and she would have been so touched and thrilled. :)

If your daughter lives to be 70 or 80 (that's around the average lifespan these days, isn't it?), she'll be spending at least 75% of her life as a grown woman. (Just how long was he thinking she'd stay a child? ;))

--------
Alexis (very pretty!)
Cara (I like this name too! It's also on my list of possible names if I have a girl..and it's not overly common)
Clara (Classic and pretty)
Boys
-------
Adam (Classic and masculine..also not overly-used)
Caleb (I really don't know what to think about it...but it is still nice)
Cory - (This is also on my possible names list...if I have a boy that is. Cory is nice and isn't too common either. Personally, I have only met 2 Corys)
Drew - (Oh I love this name! This was also on my list, but it just doesn't sound overly good with our last name. Alas.)

Date: 2007-01-25 04:07 am (UTC)Alissa, Alyssa - I prefer it with the i.
Annie - Great nickname. I'm a huge fan of the names Anastasia, Annabelle, and Annaleise (not sure of spelling on that last one.)
Audrey, Audrie, Audry - Prefer Audrina, but most people don't agree with me on that.
Cara - eh.
Charlie - It seems like this girl would get boy cards in class when she's young. Maybe use as a nickname for Charlotte.
Clara - Nice.
Desiree - Eh, nothing amazing.
Donna - I think of older women or That 70s Show
Adam - I never got the appeal of this name
Alec - eh
Alex - Love it as a nn for Alexander
Caleb - Never got the appeal.
Cory, Corey, Corrie - Corey's okay, but that's it.
Collin - I never got into this name either.
Drew - LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Date: 2007-01-25 12:32 pm (UTC)I don't see why it would really need a 'proper' name to go with it; it does just fine on its own.
