I am having trouble thinking of names where Pri (rhymes with tree) would be an acceptable nickname for a girl. I'm not entirely fond of Priscilla but I might go with that (someday) for a middle name and call her Pri anyway. Are there any other names you can think of? Thanks.

That seems ridiculous. My mum's name is April and Pri would be the last thing I'd think of someone calling her.

Eh, people get weird nicknames out of names all the time. If OP likes "Pri", it's better to give her daughter a name she'll actually like rather than picking a name that makes more sense with the nickname, like Priscilla.

That's true. But also I don't understand choosing nicknames for children...or choosing names based on nicknames. Nicknames usually have to be something the name-bearer likes. My mum called me Wren when I was very young. I never liked that. Now I don't even have the same first name anymore. My sister was called Rosa, but now only goes by Rose. Usually other people generate nicknames or the person prefers another one. I think the parent's role is to choose the formal name and use whatever nickname they want while the kid is young, but not think that's going to be the forever-name necessarily. *shrug*
