(no subject)

How horrible would it be to have the initials BJEH? Would a girl get endlessly teased for the BJ in there?

I... don't see what the problem with "BJ" is.. *clueless*

Personally, i like BJ as a nickname for a girl.

OH
I think i finally clicked, are you referring to BJ as in blowjob? hah. Well i didn't pick up on that right away.. so i don't know about kids..
Actually when i was a kid, everyone was too embarrassed to even mention the word.
And the only way i even thought of "blowjob" was because i thought "teasing? well obviously it refers to something dirty.."

[identity profile] imaloserbabyxx.livejournal.com 2007-01-22 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well.. hmm. I've known quite a few "bj's" over the years.. and i don't recall them ever getting called "blowjob" behind their back. I guess it's a hit or miss thing, you just take your chances.
But the way i see it, kids will make fun of ANYTHING..
and if they try hard enough (which they'll inevitably do), they can make any name "sexual". hah.

They're initials for "blowjob", I believe.

I think it's bad that it's the first two initials. When I was in middle school and everyone found out that originally I was to be named Belinda Jean and go by BJ, they all cracked jokes about it. I suppose it won't be as bad if she's not going by the initials as a name, but I personally would avoid it.

i'm assuming there's no chance in switching them so it would be JBEH?

Where are you from?

[identity profile] collette.livejournal.com 2007-01-22 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I work with a Bessie Jo, and we call her BJ. Never thought much about it. I don't think her initials would matter that much. I honestly never heard anyone making fun of anyone because of their name in school.

I have a friend in middle school named Bobie Jean N.K. We called her BJ all the time, and she HATED it.

Any chance you could spell the J name with a G?

My initials are BJ, and no one really teased me about it in school. Then again, that was a while ago and I went to a more rural school where people probably wouldn't say that word outloud most of the time. I'd avoid it if possible...it kind of looks strange, and if she ever has a work/school email with her initals, it does look a bit unprofessional.

The Phart thing made me laugh...sorry!

[identity profile] mrsduryee.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha! That made me giggle too...

I think BJ is such a COMMON combo (and not because its dirty) I really don't think it's a big deal. Kids can make fun of anything, so if you love the names, go with it.

I went through all 12 years of schooling with a male BJ [Bradley James] and nobody ever gave it a second thought.

[identity profile] thiscantbesoy.livejournal.com 2007-01-22 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
She'd probably get teased, and even her friends might jokingly call her BJ to piss her off, but honestly, what name CAN'T kids tease about? They can find something for everything. I am convinced that single person in the world will get teased about his or her name. :)

Can you switch the order of the two middle names, and make it BEJH? Or is B___ J____ the full first name?

[identity profile] trissyd.livejournal.com 2007-01-22 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I know a kid named "Benjamin John" and he's always gone by "BJ". It makes me giggle a bit, but really it isn't a big deal.

Go for it.

I don't think it's a big deal.

[identity profile] hitzpink.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't realize what the problem was until you mentioned the BJ thing, so I don't think it would be a big deal. When I saw BJEH, I didn't even pick out "BJ" specifically. If you're planning on actually calling her BJ, then that would be kinda weird, but otherwise it's fine.

[identity profile] hautemamma.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Hell, kids get teased about everything. I don't think BJ is a big deal.

[identity profile] wake-tonight.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
It's not a big deal. When will she actually write her initials? I've never wuite got why people care so much about them...

She might use first name/middle initial(s)/last name but I've never just used my full initials (although I have used the initials of my first and last name).

[identity profile] septembergrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure someone would figure it out at some point, but kids will get teased for SOMETHING no matter what their name is.

[identity profile] super-bitch06.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm.. I went to school with a BJ (short for William James). He got crapped on about it at first, but he was a tough little kid and pretty much laid out anyone that said it to his face. That teasing didn't last long.

So I guess it depends on how tough your kid it!

[identity profile] suthnoli.livejournal.com 2007-01-23 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, it'd be fine. They can either ignore it or make a joke of it.
