Darwin

There was a girl on American Idol last night named Darwin.

What do you think of that name?

Her first and middle names were Darwin Mischa. (Pronounced like Mischa Barton's name.)

I thought she was as weird as her name and that she needed a bra...

YES! SHE DID! lmao

OMG, did she EVER need a bra! That was frightening!

I think it's one of the few that's really not.

I hate that phrase, but I'll go with it.

I don't think it's scripted. I think as far as the audition episodes go, they know that the big ratings come from everyone wanting to see the crazy people who can't sing for crap, so they show 20 of them and 3-4 people that can actually sing. And people come with ridiculous gimmicks knowing they can't sing because they know it'll get them on the air and they want to be the next William Hung.

Evidently, natural selection hasn't weeded out the idiots very well.

I agree with ginky. It's a weird name for a very weird girl who really needed a bra.

She was weird, her name was weird, and her mother was weird, so it all matched.

Uhg. That girl gave me nightmares. Everytime she moved, she looked like she had a giant rat running around her stomach.

::twitch::

I don't like Darwin. On a girl or a boy. Mischa is okay, but she has probably ruined the name for me forever :(

[identity profile] zorianna.livejournal.com 2007-01-19 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's a ridiculous name, for a boy even but ESPECIALLY on a girl. And now it will just bring that girl to mind, so no thanks... LoL

Insert Darwin Awards joke here.

I think Darwin would make a good middle name. Especially for, you know, parents who like science.

Seconded.

I saw that, she was very interesting...I don't really like the name Darwin, especially on a girl.

Darwin is weird, especially if you are Australian. Its one of our capital cities. It would be like naming my child Melbourne. Hmmm actually I guess people are called Sydney and Adelaide for some fucked up reason...so it could work?

Im just really not a fan of naming children after cities, states, counties. Although Phoenix is an exception to that rule. But Phoenix is a bird, and an ancient Greek name too...so thats alright.

Ill stop babbling now. :)

Wow that is horrible. The Darwinism connotation is WAY too much for this name EVER to be used imo, esp on a girl!! Wow.

Now, I appreciate the work of Charles Darwin and all, but naming a child Darwin is just silly. It's a surname and a place name. Awful.

i loveeeeeeeeeeeeee the entire name. x

[identity profile] wake-tonight.livejournal.com 2007-01-20 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
No! It's a city here, so it wouldn't work very well. I also think it's really masculine.
