I think it's a Scottish name and, while it's not common, you find it in the UK much more often than Kristy, as someone says below. I'm not a great fan of it (it sounds too much like 'curtsy' for my liking) but I prefer it to Kristy.

It's my cousins name. I'm pretty neutral on it, i don't love it but i don't hate it either.

One of my son's friends is Kirstie. I love it, but she gets called Kristie an awful lot.

I just wanted to add that it's not uncommon here (UK), i know 3 Kirsty's and no Kristy's or Kristen's. I guess it just depends on where you live.

That's what I thought. I kind of like it, though I don't like Kirsten.

I love it. My best friend in middle school was Kirstyn. She always went by Kirsty.

My name is Kristie. So I'm biased - I don't like Kirsty at all.

I often get called Kirsty/Kirstie which annoys me and I like the spelling of my name with the 'ie' better.

I like Kirsty a lot better than Kristy. Kristy just makes me think trashy. Like Tiffany, Brittany, etc

I think Kirstie Alley.

Is it really that common where you are? I know like a million people called Kirsty.

I reeeeally hate Kirsty. It's totally trashy IMO.
Kirsten/Kristen is different for some reason.

Quite common in Australia.
I know someone called Kirsty who isn't very nice, so it has bad associations for me. It is also used as a nickname for Kirsten.
