Hi, I'm new here. Love the community. Its a wicked idea to have one for just baby names. I am 2 months pregnant and I've been learking around here for a couple weeks just reading some of the suggestions.
I wanted to name my child something out of the Harry Potter books. I love different names and those novels have some of the best. I was just wondering if any Harry Potter fans had any suggestions of their favorite names out of the series. Both boy and girl names, as I dont know what I am having yet.

I've always been fond of Lupin. Remus, not so much, but Lupin? Yes, very nice. Seamus, too. There's also William (Bill Weasley) Charlie, Fred, George, ron. I'm not very fond of Harry, and as far as girl's names go, JKR never gave me much material to work with. 'Hermione' is kind of a mouthful for a little kid, 'Lily' is nice, though.

I love Percy. I just love that name. Seamus is great, too. Other boy names I like...Oliver and Zacharias.

Girl names: I love and adore Pansy. I also like Luna, Ginny, Narcissa, Bellatrix, and Lily. And Gabrielle.

I think that Rowling's women's names are better than her boys. Minerva is also pretty, and you could call her Minnie which is pretty darn cute. Bellatrix is also awesome.

Lavender (Brown) is beautiful. Lily (Potter) is pretty.
Parvati Patil is an awesome name, but I'm not sure what Parvati means or where it's from.

Seamus is a nice Irish name. Cedric isn't bad either.

Griffin could be a name from the HP series because of the Hippogriff.

I would reccomend sticking to something that isn't exclusively Harry Potter. For example, Ron could be a nice choice, whereas Draco would result in a lifetime of harrassment. My personal favorites are Lily or Lavender for a girl and James or Seamus for a boy.
