when i was in target today, i heard a mom calling her daughter, Alyssa Marissa

she pronounced marissa maREESa. So Alis-uh Ma-Reese-uh.

What do you think? I don't like it at all.

I like it.
I have been called on here at this community for my love of repetative sounds for first and middle names.
ie-
Acacia Grace
Amelia Marielle
Evie Olivia
etc

I like both Alyssa & Marissa (normal pronunciation) Marissa seems classier to me though.

I like Alyssa as it is my name. I love Marisa said Mah-ree-suh and I definitely prefer that pronunciation over Muh-riss-uh

It's better than if she pronounced it to rhyme, but the name as a whole is a bit much.

I had a friend in college who was Marisa, pronounced like that girl. She said it was Italian.

I know a girl named Marisa and she goes by Reese. I think that's cute.
