i was wondering what you think about the names tiesa, thayre, briar, arley and finley for a girl?

she would be a sister to renner, ramsey and tressa. i personally think that tiesa is way too close to tressa, but my brother and his wife really like it. any other suggestions would be excellent.

EDIT: the names are for my brothers baby not mine.

Briar on a boy.

I'm sorry to say this, but I really hate them all. Briar, Arley, and Finley are boys names to me. Well, I've never actually heard of Arley, but it sounds like an old man name. Tiesa is way too close to Tressa, and I don't even understand what Thayre is.

Thayre, Finley and Arley all sound like last names...

Briar makes me think of "Brier Rose" aka Disney's Sleeping Beauty

My brother named his 2 youngest daughters Mia and Gia, so I can't really say much.. (people always give weird looks when they hear the names.. lol)

I'm not crazy about any of the choices. I agree Tiesa is too close to Tressa. Briar has never appealed to me. Arley and Finley are barely okay for boys, but not unisex in my opinion, and I don't get Thayre. Also, Tressa is a very girly name, where Renner and Ramsey are slightly more unisex -- I think a second girl should also have a more distinctly feminine name so people don't assume she's a third boy.

Going off of what seems to be your style, how about Arden, Gwendolyn, Katya, Aubrey, Calista, Avery, or Vivian? (I know some of those are more unisex, but none seem extremely boyish.)

Briar is the only one that actually resembles a name to me.

What's the origin of the name Tiesa?

I think they're all pretty awful, minus Finley, but I find that to be much more of a boy's name.

dont worry about insulting me. i think their kids names are rather bizare too. my parents are horrified my sister in law is going to name the kid something like orange or mango.

I think the best out of them are Briar and Finley. I actually know a female Finley in her mid-twenties, so Finley for a girl doesn't sound too strange to me.

I LOVE Finley.

Someone else already mentioned these names but ARDEN and GWENDOLYN are other nice options too.
I think Arden sounds better than Arley. Plus, Arley could always be a nickname for Arden.

I agree with the set that has been saying Tiesa is too close to Tressa. Finley does feel more masculine as well. Briar is ok & Arley is horrible, IMO. I knew a girl named Thayer in high school so that one doesn't sound as strange to me as it might to others. I kinda like it.
