In honour of my disgust at the 45 different spellings of Mackenzie let's try and think of them.. because i am baffled. I could come up with about 5 maybe..
Think of one that's different and not been commented already, it has to be legit... not ridiculously creative. I mean surely no parents is crazy enough to ACTUALLY spell it Macckkenzeeey or similarly awful...oh wait there probably are..euw.

1)Mackenzie

45 is just getting started with this name. Here's my quick estimate:

The name can begin in 3 different ways. (I am assuming that capitalization is not a separate spelling)
Ma
Mac
Mc

There are 6 different ways to do the second syllable. If you use each of these second syllables with each of the first syllables, you get 3 x 6, or 18 different options so far.
Ken
Kenn
Kin
Kinn
Kyn
Kynn

You can continue on with 2 different consonants. 18 x 2 gives you 36 options so far.
s
z

For each of those 36 options, you have to try each of the following 6 endings, which gives us a total of TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN spellings. That's omitting all instances of silent H (or other even more phonetically improbable letters), refusing to recognize capitalization and punctuation marks as valid criteria for uniqueness, and ignoring the possibility of terrible eyesore spellings like Mk- and -ei. If you wanted to factor those in, you can see how the numbers very quickly could become staggering.

ea
ee
ey
i
ie
y

You forgot My- as in Mykenzie.

I saw that people had offered that as an option before I posted, but to me that falls into the category of an eyesore spelling. That's just a personal preference, though (everyone has 'em).

Oh dear. Well, if you guys really want to include My- and Mi- and Me- (I am feeling woozy just looking at these), the set would expand to 432.

I really can't bring myself to even consider Mu- or Mo- or the letter c near the end... so if you do happen to know a little Mukhencei please, please let me proceed in happy ignorance of her existence! ;)
