Hattie

We were at the cemetery today putting flowers on my grandparents grave and I glanced over and saw the name Hattie. I really like it! WDYT

I know a few Hattie's short for Harriet. I can't say i like either name at all. Mad as a hatter...

I Don't like to all that much. It feels kind of old like Mildred or something.

a girl in the homecoming court for this year was named hattie, i like it!

I hate it, but I knew someone that had the name and was horrible. The actual name is just sort of "blah" for me.

I don't care for the sound. I don't like the sound of Mattie either.

It's cute as a nickname. Very old-fashioned.

It's ok. But, wouldn't you hate to tell your little one you named them after seeing it in a cemetery?

[identity profile] sarahrose.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
I know I wouldn't. That's unique and oh how I love cemeteries. :)

I like your icon.

One of the kids at the daycare I work at was named after her mother saw the name on someone's toe tag at the morgue.

HOT.

hahahahahahahaha.

i'm loling at your use of "hot" in capitals at the end. i do that alllll the time, it never fails to crack me up.

hahahaha toes. ew.

[identity profile] sarahrose.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's waaaay old-lady-ish. Ew.

I love cemeteries, though. I saw the word cemetery on my buddy list and got excited. I love to photograph and paranormally investigate them. I'm a taphophile for sure. And there are often some interesting names on headstones! :)

buddy list? LOL Friends list*

I like it but it seems like more of a NN to me. Some other commentors mentioned it as a NN for Harriet, but while I love Harriet, I don't like Hattie as a NN for it. I wonder if there are any other names it could be a NN for?

[identity profile] lavandersparkle.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Ew. Waay to old-lady-ish like Bertha.

[identity profile] temporality.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
It's adorable.

[identity profile] kedinger.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I really like it, but I think I would use it as a nickname for either Harriet or Henrietta.

[identity profile] sotypical42483.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Super cute as a nn. Actually I think it's okay on its own as well!

[identity profile] rubytitania.livejournal.com 2006-12-29 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it should be used as a nickname for Harriet or Henrietta rather than a name in itself. I don't like it either way though to be honest, it's somewhere between cutesie and old-womanish.

[identity profile] scottish-diva.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I love it =] reminds me of names like Ruby; Emily etc.

[identity profile] hotchpot.livejournal.com 2006-12-30 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I like it, but only as a nickname. It's like naming your daughter Jamie, or naming her Cathy but not for Catherine. You know? It's a nickname name.
