[identity profile] xcuore.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

I knew a girl & she had a strange name. I didnt knew her very well, but i've always thought her name was beautiful. But i had no clue how i could write/explain the pronouncuation of the name here; (in dutch the pronouncuation would be; Auwee)

but today i asked her how to write her name;
 Aué
I think its a veryvery beautiful name, but that might be because i love French names. But i think the negative side of the name is that people have no clue how to write this name

what do you think about Aué?

merry Xmas^^

In English it sounds like "owie," which doesn't work as a name to me.

It sounds like Pepe LePew saying "owie." But I'm sure it's very pretty in context. (This is why it''s hard to comment on names from other cultures.)

If the child doesn't live in a French speaking area, it will be butchered into whatever language is prevalent.
