So, I was mentioning names that I like, my baby is due in about 19 and a half weeks, anyway I said I liked Reese... for a girl, and my mum looked at me as if I was whacko...

Do you class Reese as a unisexed name?

Yes, but mostly I think of it as a girl's name, and "Reece" a boy's.

Yeah I guess if you spell it like that then sure. But, I personally wouldn't use it cause it's the name of my favourite chocolate, Reese Peanut Butter Cups.

I do think it's unisex, although I'm not sure what spelling I'd use. I'd say Rhys is decidedly masculine though. Not sure about Reece and Reese..

Lately, I've been really liking that name, for a girl.

That was a middle name I had on my male list.
But I think it's basically unisex.

PS. If people give you crap about how your kid is just DOOMED to be teased in school due to the Reese's Pieces/Peanut Butter Cup association.. don't listen. It's all about how you teach her to react to situations like that. With the name of Jaclyn, kids tried to make fun of me by calling me Jack-o-lantern or Jack-in-the-box but my Daddy taught me before I even started school how to deal with it so they'd lose the fun in it. If they called me Jack-o-lantern I'd just say a matter of factly how I loved Jack-o-lanterns or how pumpkins were pretty, haha. Or thank you because Jack-in-the-boxes are fun. If I chose Reese for my child I'd probably teach them a cute little song or something about Reese's Pieces or Reese's Peanut Butter Cups just so they wouldn't think of it as being teased, but as something fun. :]

Yeah that's the way... bullies quickly get bored with the kid who doesn't burst into tears all the time.

I think of it as being a boy's name, which is weird because the only Reese I've ever heard of is Reese Witherspoon. Hmm.

I know a few girls named Reese, but I also know the same number of boys. It's very unisex in my opinion.

I personally hate the name.

I think it can be both.

However, for a girl, I like it better as a nickname for Teresa.

Same here, I've never heard of another girl with the name. (And it's not even her first name, her first name is Laura.)

I don't dislike it, but I do think that will be a lot of people's first association.

I'm not a fan of Reese at all, for a boy or a girl. She'd probably be called Reece's Pieces all through school.

I think it's definitely unisex, but I like it better on a girl. I mean, there's Reese Witherspoon, and then the boy named Reese on Malcolm In The Middle, so there ya go! LoL

I think unisex, definitely. Also, I sort of like the chocolate association it has!

Reese can be used for both.
I think of it as a male name right away when hearing it but it can go either way.

To me "Reese/Reece" is unisex, and "Rhys" is a male name...
Peanut butter cups are delicious :)

Yes I do, but only because of Reese Whitherspoon, who's real name is Laura Reese so that's her lastname anyway...
I don't like it i'm afraid.

I like Reese as a nickname for Theresa.

Otherwise, you're naming your kid after Reese Witherspoon. Be honest.
