Names can be regional. I don't know anyone named Jasmine and have never even MET anyone named Jasmine.

Yeah I agree. The only Jasmine I know is from Disney (Aladdin I believe). But I know other names are so popular here that aren't up North.

Cool. Then that would be a good name to use then. :)

I like it. It sort of reminds me of Aladdin, but that's not all that bad. I think it's actually somewhat unique as I've never met a person named that. But like others said it depends on the region. :)

The best tip I have on naming children is to pick a name, go to the back door and yell it at the top of your lungs three times. If you still like it after that then you have a winner.

FYI I have identical twin girls whose names and Gillian Rachel and Naudia Sara. I myself have a unique name that is gaining popularity for young children-- Shelby Renee.

BTW Jasmine is a very beautiful name. Pair it up with an old fashioned middle name like Louise-- Jasmine Louise-- or even something as common yet classic as Marie-- Jasmine Marie-- and you have a winning name that she can, as you say, grow with her. The classic middle name gives her a bit of maturity if her name becomes too "popular" as she goes thru school.

Good Luck! Whatever you have and whatever you decide on the name I wish you all the happiness that comes with being a mom!
