Book related names
Dec. 16th, 2006 11:40 pmOne of my favorite book of all times is called 'Flowers in the Attic' and some of you might have read it. I was just wondering what you thought of their sibset and what you think of sibsets starting with the same letter in general.
Their names were:
Christopher
Catherine Leigh, but everyone called her Cathy (on a side note I loooove the spelling of this name with a C not a K)
Carrie (twin)
Cory (twin)
Oh and I was also wondering what you thought of the name Lorraine (nn Ray) and Corrine (also in the book, the mother's name)
Thanks!

Date: 2006-12-17 04:56 am (UTC)I LOVE the names chosen in the book, though all the C's cause my speech problem when reading allowed, but still!
I also love Cathy's child's name, Jory. Julian. She calls him Jory. If you continue to read the series you'll understand the naming.
Beautiful names choices.
I am not fond of Lorriane, but Corrine is an older name I like a bit.

Date: 2006-12-17 05:09 am (UTC)I am very into them, and my mum just glares at me. I even toyed around with changing a name I've had my heart set on for my child to include Jory. Very sad. I still think my youngest boy will be forever burdened with the nn Jory...
I'm excited to finish this one, and start the next one, but I'm reading them carefully. It's very rare I find an author who can write so many, and so FAST (in times of how fast the book moves) that captures my attention. I'm loving it!

Date: 2006-12-17 07:08 am (UTC)It took me a long time to realize how Corrine is said, Core-rin. lol, but i think its a beautiful name, the others are really traditional and not ones i would pick. Jory on the other hand is a great name lol.

Date: 2006-12-17 10:52 am (UTC)I mean I wouldn't mind 2 kids in the same family with the first same letter but all of them including the mother is a little ridiculous in my opinion.
Also I don't like Lorraine but that could just be because I hated all the Lorraine's I ever knew.
Corrine on the other hand I like.

Date: 2006-12-17 03:18 pm (UTC)My Fiance's brother and sister are named Debra and David but he is named Benjamin so that's fine. Two names with the same first letter is coincidental. Now his middle name is Daniel and if that were his first name it'd be a little much.
