A girl I knew in highschool is pregnant. Today, she told me what she's going to call her little girl:

Dakota Belle. (Bell? I didn't ask the spelling).

Dakota is overused, and not a name I'd care for anyway, and Belle is pretty by itself. Dakota Belle sounds very... prairie-wife, I think. :)

Another girl I knew has 5-year-old daughter named Alexis Payge. She told me she wanted a normal-sounding name, but changed the spelling to make it more interesting. I think the "y" looks very strange, myself. I guess it's better than Justice, the name she was obsessed with throughout middle school (about 10 years ago).

Alexia Paige is actually a name I used to have on my girl list.
But changing it to Payge is just ugly.

Ick to both.

Dakota is just really distasteful to me. I'm not even sure why, but it just seems to lack class. Belle is ok, but way too cutesy for me.

Alexis is a decent enough name, but forever will make me think of Dynasty and will seem a little trashy. Payge is just ugly.

I don't like the name Dakota. And I think the spelling Payge makes it annoying and icky looking, not interesting.

I have a baby cousin named Justice, I'm not fond of it either.

Well, none of them are my style, but neither of them are horrible (except the y in Payge - that's pretty bad). I've never actually met anyone named Dakota but then again, I'm in Michigan so maybe it's just where you live that it's that common? Alexis is MUCH MUCH better than Justice! Another thing is, I'd rather if someone wants to screw up the spelling of a name to do it in the middle name rather than the first name. Most of the time for people filling out forms or whatnot, she's just going to be "Alexis P. xxxxx " anyways.

Y! Just....y?

My cousin named her son Rayn and her daughter Fayth. COME ON.

And you know Rayn is gonna get called Ryan all his life.
