[identity profile] smileygoldfish.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
So, I pretty much settled on a girl name that I like: Kira, or Keira, not sure which way I'd spell it. And my husband says he likes it, but then he told me yesterday that he likes the name Chloe much better. I did him that I thought he should have more say in picking a girls' name because I exculsively picked the boys' name we'll use if our baby is a boy.

So what do you think or Chloe Kira or Chloe Keira? Too many "c" sounds?

I think it is too hard to say.

Either way, it is a mouthful.

Definitely too many C sounds. :(

It sounds like a tongue twister...

I don't think it flows at all, and its too much of a mouthful. Chloe or Keira would be nice, but not together.

I wouldn't mind the repeated C sounds if that were the only similarity between the names, but these names also both have two syllables and are stressed on the first syllable. I think a little more rhythmic variation might give you names that complement each other instead of competing with each other.

Chloe Camille
Chloe Cecilia
Chloe Corinne
Chloe Karina
Chloe Kerensa (this is a Cornish name that means "love")

Every Kira I know is a pure joy to be around. I'm all for that name.

Chloe, I'm not so partial too. And together, they don't really complement each other.

Chloe Kira :-) I don't think there are too many c/k sounds. I like alliteration..

Maybe if you added a small name in there to break it up, like Kiera Ann Chloe? Of course a short name that's meaningful to you and that you like ;) It kinda makes it flow better.

I love Keira, and.. dont like Chloe so much.
Buttt.. I don't see anything wrong with Chloe Keira. Who cares? Honestly how many people even find out our middle names unless we go out of our way to tell them?
I spent so much time coming up with a perfect first/middle combination for my first.. that I didn't consider much what her first/last sounded like. Her first/last is really really awkward sounding. LOL
Anyway, I think Chloe Keira or Keira Chloe is jut fine. =)

I think it'd not be so bad if they weren't the same number of syllables.

I think Chloe Keira is the better combination, though.

I love Kira, but Chloe Kira, no.
