Fashion designer Stella McCartney has given birth to a daughter, Bailey Linda Olwyn Willis. The baby, born on Dec. 8 in London, weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. This is the second child for McCartney, 35, and her husband of three years, former magazine publisher Alasdhair Willis, 36. They have one son, Miller, who turns 2 on Feb. 25.

I think it's really sweet that she used Linda for a middle name.

I don't really like the name Bailey, but I'm happy for her because, well, I love all Beatle children. She's always seemed like a good sort, as well. Love that she used Linda as the middle name!

Aren't all names cultural?

::gagging along:: Bailey is a dog's name. Olwyn I like, but I have never heard before.

I don't consider trashy names to be cultural unless there is a culture of trashy people I have never heard of.

LOL!!! I love it.

Olwyn is a Welsh name. I've known a couple of Olwyns, though they've tended to be middle-aged, and I think it's really pretty.

LOL at Irish or Icelandic or Dutch...those aren't remotely related for sounds in languages or names! XD

At first I was reading Willis as part of the given name, not the surname. I was having trouble deciding if this was girl or boy. Bailey, Olwyn, and Willis all seemed masculine to me, but Linda feminine. Olwyn just makes me think of Owen.

Not a fan of Bailey at all, girl or boy. It seems like a very clunky unhip name for a fashion designer to choose. Oh well, congrats to her.

I can't stand Bailey because it means ""bailiff" and I don't like job names and because I associate it with the alcoholic drink. Ugh.

I think Linda is a touching tribute, and it's balanced to use it as a middle name so the kid has their own first (if only that wasn't Bailey!)
I love Linda's Spanish meaning of "beauty".

I love Olwyn as it's the name of a dear friend of mine although she spells it Olwynne which appears more feminine to me,
though apparently -wen is the correct Welsh feminine suffix and -wyn is Irish. Also the legend behind it sounds lovely: http://www.behindthename.com/php/view.php?name=olwen

Miller is nice. As a surname. Again I don't get the job names trend, especially as a sib set.
I'd rather call my kids something that means more than a job title lol.

Bailey as a name for a girl is sort of a guilty pleasure of mine. However, if it really means Bailiff....yuck. That kinda changes that for me. Not a terrible name, I suppose.

I was just thinking about Bailey this morning. I hate it, especially on a girl. It somehow manages to sound both harsh and infantile at the same time. It's just so ugly. =/

Bailey is by far one of my LEAST favorite girls names EVER. It sounds like a dogs name and it just sounds so HARSH. I cannot for the life of me imagine a grown woman named BAILEY. Gag!!!! Awful! I can barely even picture it on a little girl. I hate it so so so much. I hope she goes by Linda.
