what about pesha or pescha?

(i got it off "will and grace." grace has an aunt pescha on the show.)

it's actually a nickname. . . Jewish/Polish/Russian etc will a lot of the time, for the older generations have longer names and then the more familiar. That's a 'familiar form'. . . I don't know of what, though.

For example, a croatian name, Pavel, (male) will sometimes be shortened to Pascha as a familiar.
