Name Decision

My fiance and I are desperately trying to find a name that we both like for our little girl. So far, we've come up with the following and we'd like to see what some opinions would be... +pos or -neg, we can take it lol

Luciana Veda Nikolette Walker

The meanings we've found are the following:

Luciana - Light/Light Bearer/Light Bringer
Veda - (Eternal)Knowledge/Wisdom- Vedas are the sacred texts of Hinduism
Nikolette - Victory/Victorious People

I don't think that Nikolette goes with that other two names. I do think Luciana Veda is lovely though.

Yeah... I was kind of thinking that as well, but Nikolette is the name he's always wanted to name his daughter, so it's kind of stuck in there lol

I think it's a mouthful. Nothing overtly wrong with any of the names, just a big name to live up to, that's all.

Yes, we have considered that, but we both come from families with long names, so she'll at least fit in there lol

We were considering Liliana or Ariana, but they're both on the top 100 lists and we didn't want her to have 3 others in her class with the same name :/

I admit I have an affinity to "Iana" names (maybe because my own name is Diana?) and I love Liliana for a while but it became popular and it started to bore me. I don't here Ariana mentioned very often, and I do like it very much. Other names I like like that are Viviana, Juliana, Adriana and Tiana. For years I thought I made Tiana up myself, but nope! It's real. And I once met another girl named Tiana also.

Ah.. I hate that it's a trend myself, but in our families, 2 middle names is more of a staple. All my siblings, all his siblings and half of our nieces and nephews have 2 middle names.

Thank you for saying so. We have actually had the problem of loving a name but hating the meaning, or hating a name but loving the meaning. It's hard being thoughtful sometimes hehe

I think it's a bit disrespectful to take a culture's sacred scriptures and use it as a name.

I might like the way Koran sounds, but I would not turn it into a name.

I considered that as well. However, the word & name Veda existed in Sanskrit before it was used as a name for the scriptures, so in our book it's okay. Thanks for the thought though :)

If she were a boy, she would be Lucian or Luca :)

We're also considering Violet rather than Veda, but it's so popular.

I don't like Nikolette either, but it's the name my fiance is really stuck on, so I let him have it as the 2nd middle name hehe

Luciana pronounced loo-see-ah-nuh i really like. I don't know if that's right though, i just don't like the pronunciation loo-chee-ana. The sound bothers me...
Veda- i like it, reminds me of the main character from 'my girl' oh i heart that film! It means wisdome, as does my name Sophia.
Nikolette- hmm i'm not sure, I don't really like it but i do prefer it to Nicola. I like Nicole but it's very Jennifer/Jessica-esque...

It's not a name I would pick, but it doesn't sound *bad.* I dislike Lucy as a name, but Luciana is not a bad variant.

Don't like Veda.

Nikolette reminds me of Nicorette. Normally I hate kre8iv spellings, but a second middle name isn't a bad place for one.

I don't mind Lucy as a nickname, but I certainly wouldn't name her Lucy. I think Luciana sounds better as a "real" name

Violet is also in consideration as a middle name in place of Veda.

I really don't care for Nikolette myself, but that's the name my fiance is stuck on, so I figured we could sneak it in as a second middle name lol
