[identity profile] p-inkjeans.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
While talking to a friend about names earlier, I realized that almost everyone on my dad's side of the family has a traditional Danish name for either their first or middle name, or at least some variant of one (maybe the spelling is changed, etc.) I googled "Danish baby names" and found these, which I think I might add to my list for the future. What do you think?

Girls:
Maren
Annelise
Laila
Lena

Boys:
Soren
Anders
Aren
Niels
Hans

Annelise and Maren are both definitely getting added to my list and Annelise, especially, has a real possibility of being used when I have kids. The boys' names are getting added to my list but only as middle names. I don't see myself using them as firsts unless I fall in love with them a little more.

I love Anders. My husband's name is Andrew, so it'd be a nice nod if we hadn't used Andrew for my son's middle name. Living in Southern California, though, I think a lot of people would assume it was Andres.

Me = half-Danish. I love Danish names. I'm a Kiersten. And my favorite names from your list are:
Maren
Lena
Soren (actually on my list)

I also like the name Jens, but it feels too feminine to me, so the name that's actually on my list is Jensen.

Here are some more (http://behindthename.com/nmc/dan.php). :)

I love Soren! I'm Danish and never found a Danish name I liked... until that one. What does it mean?
