I havent actually named my child that. Its just a name I like for future kids. Looking at the way I spelt those is comman sense on how to pronounce them so I am not worried about it. Although there are some pretty stupid people out there cause my sons name is Levi (like out of the bible or like the jeans) you would think people could pronounce it right but he has been called Levy before.
It's not just about saying them as their seen, it's about spelling too. As in, everytime he says his name outloud, people are going to spell it Isaiah and it's going to be humiliated correcting them. I have an uncommon name. The kind where if someone heard it they thought they knew how to spell it but fucked it up...and if I had written it down they weren't sure how to say it. It was a miserable, horrible expirience and led to me changing my name *shrug*.
I'm not saying you have to name your kid Bob or Julie, but Isaiah is a different enough name without misspelling it. And yes, Izaiyah is a misspelling, not an "alternative" spelling (i.e. Jillian, Gillian = names with alternative spellings).
