(no subject)

What do you think of the names:

Autumn
Holly
Delia

Last name is Western and my son's name is Parker.

Any middle name suggestions?

I love Delia. Not too crazy about Holly at all, but Autumn is okay.

I've always liked Delia Layne.

Holly is pretty.

[identity profile] blissurrenderd.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
My SIL just named her baby Holly, so even though I didn't like it terribly much before, I love it now!

I love the name Autumn. I think it's so pretty.

Delia is nice too, though all I can think of is that teen clothing company.

Holly feels pretty dated and blah to me. There were A LOT of Hollys born in the 70s around the same time as me. I've known a lot of girls with that name. It was actually one of my parents choices for me too.

LOVE Autumn, 2nd place: Delia.

My sister's name is Holli. :)

I don't much like Autumn. I love Holly. Delia I don't care about much either way, but it's nice.

Autumn Dove (is that a little too adjective-namey? I just really like the combo, but...it's a bit much, I think.)
Autumn Ophelia (I KNOW, again, way too much, but I like Autumn better when paired with "dramatic" MNs, don't know why)
Autumn Olivia
Autumn Sage

Holly Isabelle
Holly Miranda
Holly Corinne
Holly Madeleine

Delia Caroline
Delia Catherine
Delia Jane
Delia Adeline

Now I'm interested - could you post more 'dramatic' MNs?

[identity profile] glitterberrys.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe "dramatic" is overstating it a little bit, but more unusual names.

Lenore
Eleanora
Devaney
Coralie
Evangeline

Oh, I LOVE Holly Isabelle!

[identity profile] sarahrose.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
I like Autumn and Holly.

[identity profile] satunian.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
I love Delia, and Autumn is nice too. Holly is alright. But Delia is the best of those three!

[identity profile] springtide-hfa.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
I'm Hollie, short for Holland, so I, of course, love the name.

Delia is very nice, too.

[identity profile] naturalgoddess.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Autumn is lovely, Hollie is nice (holly a little too Xmasy for me) and Delia is quite original!!

[identity profile] heyitsrebecca.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
I love Holly. I've never known anyone with that name IRL. (I know a few online, though)

Delia is.. nice as is Autumn. I really like Holly though.

[identity profile] lacuna.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Autumn is nice, I think, but I'm British, so that's the term we use for 'Fall'. I wouldn't call my child after a day of the week or a season, so I wouldn't use it.

Delia has middle-age association for me as there is a famous TV chef here named Delia Smith. (She's so famous she can just go by her first name and everyone knows who you mean.)

Holly is pretty, but is it a name a woman can wear well in her thirties/forties/fifties? In these cases, I try to imagine a high-powered 40-year old business woman called [name] and a grandma called [name] and see how it feels.

I like this idea. if she likes these 3 names, why not choose one as a middle name too?

[identity profile] liss07.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 12:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I love both Autumn and Holly :D

[identity profile] embracinglove.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Autumn sounds nice with Parker.

[identity profile] embracinglove.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
as a sibset of course

[identity profile] septembergrrl.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I love Autumn, but I don't think it sounds right with Western. I like both of the other two; I'd vote for Delia, but Holly is also a very nice name.

[identity profile] ky-whitney.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I love Autumn, but I agree, it doesnt sound right with Western.

I vote Delia.

[identity profile] scottish-diva.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker and Autumn deff. sounds better together i think.

Autumn Elise
Autumn Rhiannon [i know someone online with a daughter of that name and i love it].

I don't like Delia.
But I love Holly and Autumn.

I prefer Delilah to Delia, it feels too hard to say to me.
