Tennessee Elizabeth

I know its long, i know its a state - but one of my guy friends and i were talking about interesting names and we came up with Tennessee.

And believe me ive thought of the pick up line :)

Do you think its interesting, weird, ugly pretty or something else.

(Im not naming a child this - just asking)

A little too long for me, and I don't really like Tennessee as a name, but it has a nice sound. Somehow, though, Tennessee sounds masculine to me.

I agree with piperrhiannon, it sounds masculine to me (because of Tennessee Williams, I suppose).
I think I'm the only one that likes it? I would never name a child that, but I wouldn't think it's that ugly on a boy.

It's not especially appealing to me. Do you like Tanith, Tamsin, Tenley, or Tansy? Those have somewhat similar sounds.

I actually like it. I don't know if I would ever use it, but i like it. Reminds me of the Sugarland song where there's "a girl called Tennesee"

It makes me think of Tennessee Claflin (http://www.picturehistory.com/find/p/21214/mcms.html), who's a pretty cool namesake. (Early suffragette and spiritualist who eventually married royalty.) Could be a hard name to handle, but on the right person it could work really well.

I agree.. some state names I like, and they evoke softness and warmth-- like Georgia or Virginia, but Tennessee... no. Also makes me think Tennessee Williams.

I'm not fond of it to begin with, but the kicker for me is how no one would ever spell it right. It'd be like naming a kid Mississippi, or Connecticut.

Either way, I'd definitely ditch Elizabeth. It's the ultimate filler middle name for unorthodox first names.
