So my Husband and I finally got married in October...
now we are debating when to start having kids, we thought we would try for a couple of months, then start trying again in June...

anyways...
I have a english/scot-irish/german (european mutt) background
and he has a german/italian back ground.
our last name is unfortunately very German/Dutch sounding...

he wants the name Scott for a boy which is okay... and he wants a totally Italian middle name-- Giovanni

I said okay just to "shut him up" but now he is set on it, and I am not so sure I like it.
for the girl we had picked Samantha Rose (both names have family bonds on both sides of our family)

But now that we are actually trying and what not, I am not sure I like any of the names we had talked about... and now he is set on these and doesnt wanna change them...

what do you guys think of the names??

I dont really like it. Oh, and if he gives you a hard time about it tell him to carry a growing baby around for 9 months and then push it out of his dick. When I say it in such a brash manner to my hubby, he shuts up real quick lol.

I think Scott Giovanni is okay. I prefer Giovanni as a first naem to be honest, one of my best friends is George and we call him Geo.. like Gio.. it's got good feelng.
A really Italian middle name is fine, ther are lots of cool Italian names i like.

I really dislike Samantha. It's very 80's reject, comon and boring IMO..
Rose is a pretty middle name especially if it's for family reasons.

Samantha seems to be trying to make some sort of come back-- I just dont know how i feel about it...
Samantha is b/c of his great grandfather nicknamed Sam and my dad named Samuel
I just think it will be confusing "little Sammy, this is you grand daddy Sam"

This is completely random, but I used to have an American Girl doll I named Samantha Rose.

I think it's pretty, relly. I'm not sure about how much I like Scott and Giovanni together, though I like both names seperately.

I completely know what you mean about having a fella set on names. My guy and I aren't going to be trying for some time yet, but he has names his heart is set on. Fortunately, at the moment, I like them too, but I hafta wonder if our tastes will change by the time we actually TTC...

Samantha Rose is lovely!!! Scott and Giovanni are very nice names on their own but together, they sound a little clashing.

And Just curious, why try now for a bit, and then in June? Any reason?

Haha me neither! For some reason I really want a May baby (Ideally I want a girl in May and a boy in September) so when I am ttc I plan on being really, umm... active (lol) in August!

I would have never picked these names on my own--- but he likes them and I can be okay with that--- as long as we have more than 2 children hehe

i usually like names like Roman, Gabriel, Brennan, Dominic, Xander...
Rhiannon, Kyra, Meadow, Elanor, etc...

I like both Scott and Giovanni but I don't like them together.
I LOVE Samantha Rose. Samantha is our top girl name right now. But our's would be Samantha Vivian. (Vivian is my grandma.) We probably won't be TTC until next fall though so it might change.
